Companies Eliminating DEI Programs
The following companies have recently eliminated or significantly reduced their DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs. This list is regularly updated as more companies make similar decisions.
Amazon
Began winding down some DEI programs in December 2024, removing sections on "Equity for Black People" and "LGBTQ+ Rights" from their policy positions webpage
Boeing
Dismantled its global DEI department, redirecting staff to focus on talent acquisition and employee experience in HR
Brown-Forman (Jack Daniel's manufacturer)
Removed workforce and supplier diversity goals and stopped participating in the Human Rights Campaign index
Caterpillar
Required all corporate training to focus on business operations and approval for external speakers
Citigroup
Cut several diversity initiatives, including its diversity hiring goals
Ford Motor Company
Ceased participating in external diversity surveys and evolved employee resource groups
Harley-Davidson
Abandoned its "DEI function" in April 2024, stating it does not utilize diversity quotas for hiring or suppliers
John Deere
Scaled back DEI investments, stopped supporting "cultural awareness" events like Pride parades, and audited company documents to remove "socially-motivated messages"
Lowes
Stopped sponsoring LGBTQ+ events, withdrew from the Human Rights Campaign's Equality Index, and combined employee resource groups
McDonald's
Ended supplier diversity training programs and removed diversity goals for senior leadership positions
Meta (formerly Facebook)
Disbanded its DEI team and canceled key equity-focused programs
Molson Coors Brewing Company
Abandoned supplier diversity quotas and stopped participating in external diversity surveys
MSNBC
Removed diverse anchors from air and replaced them with white hosts
NBC
Removed diverse anchors from air and replaced them with white hosts
Pepsico
will no longer use representation goals in hiring, will transition its “Chief DEI Officer” position to focus more on employee development and will shift its supplier diversity program to focus on all small businesses.
